From the young age of 14, I embarked on my song writing journey by creating poetry as a form of introspection and self-expression, and despite initially planning on not releasing any of my poems, I continued to work on my craft to learn and grow as a writer. Writing from my personal experience using my words as a medium to tell my story and describe the emotions I’ve felt on my journey, my poems eventually began to evolve into song lyrics. After years of keeping my writings in a notes folder on my phone I decided that it was time to start sharing them with the world. My first time in a recording studio was in November 2022 and since then I have been working diligently, writing and recording full original songs.
Growing up I was heavily influenced by some of the old school music my parents would listen to, like The Beach Boys, Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons, Elton John, and Queen, as well as some of the more contemporary music I would hear at parties and on the radio such as Lil Wayne, Drake, All American Rejects and Amy Winehouse. I have used these influences to create my own unique sound, which has been a blend of rap, pop, rock, and jazz.
During tumultuous periods of my adolescence, I would turn to music as a form of therapy and catharsis. Listening to my favorite artists express their emotions allowed me to understand my own better. In making music, my goal is to share my story and use my triumphs and struggles to help others along their journey the same way that my favorite artists helped me.
In all my recordings and live performances, I am looking to create a connection with the listener, allowing them to have an inside view of my own personal experience as it relates to theirs.
The meaning of life is connection and I think that music has given me the opportunity to form a real bond with people on a grand scale that I otherwise would never have been able to do.
